Most rooms in the hostel are two-person bunks, offering more privacy than dorm situations.

A 400-metre walk takes you to the post office and the town centre. In the township, you can purchase groceries, pizza, Subway, and access the internet at the Library. A bus service commutes to Devonport City every hour and returns. Latrobe is central for all harvesting jobs on the northwest coast of Tasmania.
The Berry Exchange is a major employer operating from Devonport, offering jobs for picking raspberries and blueberries; the Devonport farm is 6km from the hostel. Additionally, there are opportunities for apple picking, potato harvesting, grape picking, cherry picking, carrots, broccoli, beans, etc., which require employees from November through to July. The hostel collaborates with several employment agents, and while we cannot guarantee you work, we can add you to the agents’ list.
